This is a film of the Billion Dollar Babies show filmed in Dallas (April 28th) and Houston, Texas (April 29th) in 1973. It was in limited release in the theaters back in the mid-70s, directed by Joe Gannon and produced by Penthouse magazine. The working title was something like The People Vs. Alice Cooper although some music papers made mention of the title Hard Hearted Alice. The movie actually had its premiere in Binghamton, NY (and Cottage Grove Drive In, Oregon) which was quite clever since that was the same city that had banned the B$B concert from playing there. It was shot on 16mm and then blown up to 35mm which explains why it is looks so dark. There are actually two versions of this film around. The first features the live show interspersed with specially shot footage of the Coopers performing comedy sketches including the classic footage of the band in white tie and tails performing The Lady Is A Tramp. The second version replaces most of the sketches (but not The Lady...) with old movie newsreel footage and interview clips. This version was unofficially released in Germany in the mid-eighties but quickly vanished.
