Now, more than ten years into their career, the South Bank Show accompanies the global stars for six months, taking in their wins at this years Grammys in the Los Angeles, touring Japan, the Brit Awards and the Warchild concert in London; and spending time with them whilst they work on their next album in their north London studios, with Brian Eno.
In this intimate, behind-the scenes portrait, Melvyn Bragg talks in depth to each of the four band members: Chris Martin (vocalist), Johnny Buckland (lead guitarist), Guy Berryman (bassist) and Will Chapman (drummer) - and discuss their plans for the future.
The South Bank Show spans their career and meteoric rise, from their early days as students - even taking the film crew back to their student flat in Camden, and to the first venue they ever performed at, the Dublin Castle in Camden.
